Make Money Update

Published by Jeremy under Make Money

As promised earlier this week, I have published the complete (for now) Make Money page. As I stated in there numerous times, those are all 100% free to join and use, and they all pay their users. On the topic of updates, I also deactivated the Digg plugin (if you did not already notice). Not only was it annoying for me to see on each and every post, but I can imagine it was annoying to you as well. Not only was it not providing a lot of traffic, but it was also an eyesore. Maybe I will place the Digg This button on select posts where I see fit, but that will not happen for some time.

As I explained earlier, I recently purchased a car thanks 100% to eDataJob. I will explain eDataJob in more depth, but let’s just say I earned enough in 2 months to buy a car, get new paint, and put some tints on the windows (as well as some other minor things).

On topic of cars, I decided to post a few cool pictures.

Mustang Cobra with Nitrous Spray

Saleen S7

I wouldn’t mind driving one, or both of those. Not at the same time, of course, but still. ;)

New AdSense Features

Published by Jeremy under Advertising

As I was messing around with the settings on my AdSense advertisements, I noticed that Google has implemented a nice new feature. This new feature allows you to choose how you would like the border of your ad to show. As you see below, you can choose from square corners, slightly rounded corners, or very rounded corners. There is a nice presentation of the different examples here. If you are wondering how to access this new change, simply log into your AdSense account, and then click on AdSense Setup, then AdSense for Content. Once you get to the screen where you pick the ad formatting and color scheme you will also see the new feature.

I am glad that they have extended the functionality of their advertisements, but there are a few points I would like to make. First of all, almost 100% of the advertisements I use have no border to increase the blending and flow of my website(s). If I was to use a layout that had rounder corners as well, it would be very nice to implement advertisements with rounded corners.

The added ability proves to me that Google is trying to please their publishers by increasing the functionality and blending opportunities of their advertisements. Although I will rarely use this new feature, I am definitely happy they have implemented it.

Free Website Review

Published by Jeremy under Contests

As the month of June is becoming closer to being over, I figured I would make note of the free website review drawing I am holding yet again. Especially being that this is my first contest, I would like to provide the opportunity for as many people as possible to be eligible for this blog review (or website). I will quickly explain the rules for those of you who have not seen the original post:

The rules for this are simple. You must publish the most content based comments until the end of the month of June. By content based comments, I mean they must be on topic and have some relation to the post you are commenting on.

There you go. Those are the only rules you need to follow in order to win a free website review.

In addition, I will be adding another contest at the beginning of July. This one will contain a bit of a different twist. Keep posted.

How To Get 437,000 Subscribers In 1 Day

Published by Jeremy under Blogging

As many of you notice, various bloggers have a small image that displays their subscriber number to their viewers. It also has an RSS subscription link included. This widget is great to show your readers the amount of growth and development your blog has gone through. In addition, new readers will see your subscriber count and judge the popularity of your blog. Seeing your feed numbers increase is a definite motivation tool, and sometimes people decide to display other people’s counts as their own.

I Want 437k Subscribers

The website in which this whole scheme is based upon is TechCrunch. If you did not know, their feed widget displays 437k and is (as far as I know) the highest number of subscribers anywhere. In order for your blog to obtain 437k subscribers, all you need is a couple minutes. However, to the advanced reader, this is easily detectable and will usually be the reason that they will refrain from visiting your blog in the future.

A Little HTML, A Lot Of Subscribers

The idea behind this little exploit, is to display another’s feed count as your own. This can be done with anyone’s feed count, but why not go for the gold? Anyways, if you right click on the image itself and click “Copy Image Location” you will notice something like this (when you paste it):

http://feeds.feedburner.com/~fc/Techcrunch?bg=FF6600&fg=000000&anim=0

The “FF6600″ and “000000″ are the source colors for the image. These can be changed once you place the code within your blog, and you can format the image accordingly. Now that you know where to copy the image from, I will explain to you how to copy the image into your blog. Whether or not you currently have a FeedBurner chicklet, you will implement the code as follows:

<a href=”http://feeds.feedburner.com/YourBlog”><img src=”http://feeds.feedburner.com/~fc/TechCrunch?bg=003333&fg=FFFFFF&anim=0” height=”26″ width=”88″ style=”border:0″ alt=””></a>

And now, thanks to a little exploit, and a little typing, your chicklet will properly (haha) display 437k. Since this is the exact same image code as TechCrunch, your numbers (if you continue using this exploit) will match theirs directly as they fluctuate up and down.

Pros And Cons

Of course doing something like this is wrong and I would not recommend it. However, some people think that if they display a feed count larger than their own, readers will be more apt to believe their material, and visit their site more frequently. Also, to some people it may provide a false sense of success and inflate their ego a little.

On the downside, if you are “caught” doing something like this, your credibility goes way down, and your readers will second guess your material. After all, if you copy another blogger’s feed count, why wouldn’t you copy their material as well?

Overall

I have noticed this on numerous occasions, and more often than not these bloggers who claim to have subscriber counts in the 10k+ range, have been blogging for less than a month. If you would like a little insight, I would recommend taking a chicklet that displays a more realistic count for the time you have been blogging.

Make Money Online

Published by Jeremy under Make Money, Blogging

For those of you who are awaiting the full update of the Make Money page, it is very near. Whether you are waiting for it or had no idea it was not yet published, it will be up sometime this week. Included in there will be extensive information about the way in which I earned income online before blogging.

The main reason why this page has been taking so long to update, is because I just bought a car. Thanks to eDataJob, I was able to purchase a car (and still have plenty left over to do a few things to it (new paint, tint the windows… you know, necessities)) and I have been spending a lot of time getting that baby up and running. I can assure you that sometime this week it will be posted and there will be more information that you need to start making money online.

The good thing about the information I will post, is that you do not need a blog or to be a webmaster of any kind in order to make money from these opportunities. Of course, it helps as you blog and learn about new opportunities and things like that, but I was making money online from other sources for a few months before I started blogging. If you are wondering, I am still making money online from all these sources, and it is a very nice way to make cash.

The car I bought looks very similar to this one, but once everything is said and done, I will put up a picture of my car. It is currently red, but I’m painting it black so it will look very nice with the tinted windows. :)

The goal is to upgrade this in the near future, but this will get me from point A to B in the meantime.

Note: I will focus mainly on ways to make money where you do not have to pay to join.

20/20 Hindsight

Published by Jeremy under Blogging

As I was reading through various blogs, I came across a very interesting article written by Darren Rowse. In his article, What Do You Know Now About Blogging That You Wish You Knew When You Started, he questions his readers to explain what they would have changed or done differently if they could restart. I was very intrigued by this article and it sparked a lot of thought within my mind. Hence the title of my post, hindsight is always crystal clear. There are many different things I have experienced through blogging, and he explains a majority of them here.

Perhaps it’s some method of finding traffic, perhaps it’s about your writing style, it could be more about how you interact with readers, maybe it could even be something to do with a blogging tool that you’ve discovered or it could even be that you wish you’d never started.

Most of those ideas hold true. I have been searching for various traffic sources, tweaking my writing style here and there, increased my interaction with readers, and used a variety of blogging tools. However, I am extremely glad that I started blogging, and if I could change one thing…

Well Darren, if I was able to change one thing about blogging, it would be that I started blogging sooner. Knowing that I enjoyed writing and teaching those who were actually interested in learning what I was teaching, blogging is the perfect way to portray information to a targeted group of people. In my opinion, if you are able to teach somebody something that you have learned, either from experience or previous mistakes you have made and then learned from, it is a very satisfying experience. Especially if somebody is seeking direct advice, there is nothing more pleasing that being able to solve someone’s problem or help them learn something they care about.

Going along with that, if I had started blogging sooner, I imagine I would be a lot more knowledgeable about blogging in general, and therefore be able to help other people begin or increase their blogging knowledge. Granted, I still have a lot to learn, but the amount of knowledge I have retained in the few months I have been blogging is immense. I feel like I have been at this for years. I can only imagine how much else I will learn and experience as time goes on and I continue writing on my blog.

Feel free to comment here or check out Darren’s post about what your experiences are. Whether you are yet to begin a blog, or have been blogging for years, what do you think?

Blog Carnivals

Published by Jeremy under Miscellaneous

The recent blog carnival seemed to be a success. Not only did it draw traffic to those who submitted articles to the carnival, but it also helped inform readers about various topics that I did not cover, or covered vaguely. With blog carnivals, you still have to produce great content, but they are a chance at free marketing of your material. Free marketing is definitely something you do not want to miss.

What do you think about blog carnivals, or more specifically, the recent edition that I just published?

Easy Way to Increase AdSense CTR

Published by Jeremy under Advertising

There are many different ways that people claim to have increased their CTR (click through rate) with AdSense, but I have come across one of the best ones I have seen yet. If you read why you should use AdSense, then you probably know a little about blending and why it too can help you increase earnings.

However, even if your advertisements are properly blending, there is still that annoying text at the bottom of the ad block: Advertise on this site - This is an obvious give-a-way that this block is from AdSense, along with the Ads by Google text. Unless the website is getting massive amounts of hits, this option is usually more of an annoyance to readers. This tip I am about to explain to you will remove this text and increase the blending ability of your AdSense advertisements.

In order to remove the Advertise on this site text from your AdSense blocks, you need to follow these steps.

Log into your AdSense account and go to the My Account tab.

From there you want to scroll down until you see Onsite Advertiser Sign-Up. Click on [edit].

Once you click on edit, you will notice that the box for Include me in Onsite Advertiser Sign-Up is checked. You want to uncheck this box.

Once you have unchecked the box and clicked Save changes you are done. You will now notice that Advertise on this site no longer appears, and your advertisements will look even more blended than before!

As websites grow, I believe this is a great factor to use, because advertisers are looking to directly place ads on certain sites. However, unless you are receiving big time traffic to your website, I would recommend turning this option off so your advertisements will look a little more fresh and clean than before.

If anybody tries this and has any feedback, I am interested to know how this worked for you.

The web hosting services are enjoying an upsurge in internet business by catering the rising demand of webhosting. The website design is yet another important feature in alluring the end user towards the web site. With the search engine optimization services which is also known as the seo solutions, the efficiency of the search engines are being improved to facilitate the internet users. Thus the search engine marketing company has a huge demand and capacity to make a lot of profit in the era of internet marketing. Even the wireless internet providers are gaining an immense number of customers with increase in internet awareness.
