5 Ways To Increase Google PageRank

Published by OnlineCash at 4:20 pm under Traffic, SEO

I have been doing some research as of late to see how I can increase my PageRank. I keep telling myself that it takes time, but I am the type of person who loves to see improvements. Whether it is with my Technorati rankings, my traffic levels, or my page rank. Fortunately, two of those three have increased lately. However, my page rank is still sitting at 0.

Looking at various successful blogs, and reading how they have increased their page rank, I have compiled a list of ways that you and I can both increase our page ranks.

To begin I would like to provide a few facts in relation to page rank.

A website has a maximum amount of PageRank that is distributed between its pages by internal links.

The maximum amount of PageRank increases as the number of pages in the website increases.

By linking poorly, it is possible to fail to reach the website’s maximum PageRank, but it is not possible to exceed it.

To many, this information may be second nature. I believe the PageRank system is complex, and here is a list of 5 ways to increase your page rank.

1. Links From Related Websites

A great way to increase your page rank would be to include links from other related websites within your blog. This can be the most difficult to achieve, because finding websites within your niche can be easy, but many larger websites are hesitant to link to smaller sites due to the fact that they feel they are not getting as much in return as they are giving you (traffic wise). However, once you build your reputation as being successful and having substantial traffic, this method becomes increasingly more easy to achieve.

2. Writing Articles

In order to generate additional traffic and in turn increase PageRank, another great idea would be to write articles. I would suggest using Helium, as I have published articles with them before. Aside from providing additional traffic to your website, you can earn money each time somebody reads your article. Again, writing well will earn you money in the end. Another reason as to why these articles will help your traffic numbers, is you can throw links in to your website throughout the article about where you can find additional information about your topic. In the end, traffic rules all.

3. Join Forums

I have personally realized how effective this can be with traffic increases. Especially if the forums have a relation to your blog, your traffic numbers can and should drastically increase. With related forums, the traffic to your site will be within your target group, so you will have essentially killed two birds with one stone. On top of that, you can include a signature to your website or other referral links, and make it extremely easy for others to visit your website. I have not tried any related forums, but I have used completely unrelated forums and my traffic numbers have since increased.

4. Submitting To Search Engines

Granted this method seems obvious, some people do not submit their websites to search engines for various reasons. Not only are these links free, but you have a greater chance at increasing your rank within popular search engines like Google or Yahoo. Google has close to 300,000,000 backlinks and Yahoo is just shy of 175,000,000. These numbers prove the amount of people who have previously linked to these search engines, and getting a free link to your website can be extremely helpful to you as the webmaster.

5. Do Not Use Poor Linking or Link Farms

One way to decrease your rank in the eyes of Google’s PageRank system would be poor linking, or using linking farms. A linking farm would be something like Viralink where there is just a bunch of links compiled together to try to generate additional traffic. If this is bad for PageRank, then why did I do it? I did it as a one time thing to see how much traffic this idea could generate. Along with that, there are some related websites within the Viralink which I can then look at more closely and work on some direct links from related sites.

An Overview

Increasing PageRank can be a difficult task, especially for new bloggers. This is why creating professional, original content plays a very large factor in being successful. I cannot stress the importance of content. With content, other bloggers will realize that you actually know what you are talking about, and will be more inclined to exchange links with you. This is one of the most important ways to increase your page rank. I have personally used each of these methods, now I just need to wait until Google updates the PageRank numbers again so I can see how effective these ideas actually are.

Thank you. For some reason your comment was marked as spam, Headwind. I went in and had to manually add your comment. I’m not sure why that is, but it showed up. There you go! Thank you for the good luck wishes.
