Inspirational Quotes - Thanksgiving Edition

Published by Jeremy under General, Quotes

I haven’t written an edition of inspirational quotes in awhile, so I figured what better time to do it then right before Thanksgiving. Understandably people celebrate this day different, or not at all, but being that many of the readers are from the United States, I assumed that many will be appreciating this day as well.

For every person who climbs the ladder of success, there are a dozen waiting for the elevator.

The interesting thing about this quote is that it relates to every aspect of life. Whether you notice people in their educational career, their athletic career, or their working career, there are many people who are looking for the easy way out.

Each of us has two ends; a sitting end and a thinking end. Success depends on which end we use.

Again, a very true quote. Personally, I have made some relatively bad choices and have paid for them. It is learning from these situations and making the most of the good choices that will lead to success.

All the flowers of tomorrow are in the seeds of today.

As I have said a number of times, success is not something that happens instantly. You need to work hard to achieve it, whether you are looking for financial freedom or happiness. Work hard now and you will reap the benefits in the future.

The surest way to go broke is to sit around and wait for a break.

Of course it is always nice to catch a break, but you need to work hard to achieve your goals. Waiting for something to happen is the key to failure. Be a playmaker, take the “game” into your own hands and make something happen.

People don’t fail, they give up.

Persevere. Whether you are learning about blogging, becoming a car mechanic, or running a business, do not quit. If you work through the difficult times you will be rewarded in the end. A perfect quote to re-illustrate this one is: When the going gets tough, the tough get going. If you find yourself on hard times, whether it be an overload of work or a shortage of funds, stay strong and do not give up. With that mentality it will be extremely hard for you to fail.

I wish everyone a safe, happy, and healthy Thanksgiving, and hope you enjoy the time off (if you are so fortunate to be able to have time off).

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! :)

Inspirational Quotes

Published by Jeremy under Quotes

It has been quite some time since I wrote a few inspirational quotes, and I feel quotes play a very important role with how people present themselves. Some people try to shape their lives around the meaning of certain quotes, while others do not take it to that extreme, but still these quotes have some kind of meaning. If you have any interest, you can read Version 1 and Version 2 of inspirational quotes. It has obviously been quite some time since I have written quotes posts, and that is not because I stopped believing they are vital to success. The cool thing is reading quotes from extremely successful people about what they believe. When they can explain their feelings in one to two sentences, I believe they are extremely powerful words.

Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.

This quote, by Thomas Jefferson, is a great explanation of how many people function. I read an article by Warren Buffet the other day and he said essentially the same thing. Those people who think thoughts of prosperity and wealth, will be wealthy. While those who think about being poor, will be poor. If you have the attitude of success, you are much more prone to be successful than if you are setting yourself up for failure.

A great thing about quotes, is these extend beyond the blogging realm, beyond the work experiences. These quotes can be directly associated with your life.

Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.

If you work hard continuously, you will eventually be rewarded. It is those people who dream of getting rich quick that are definitely setting themselves up for failure. This is a main reason why many bloggers who are trying to earn a quick buck, fail miserably. When they see their first month’s earnings, and they total $5, they become discouraged at the big names making $100,000+ a month, and eventually quit blogging.

There is only one success — to be able to spend your life in your own way.

This is another explanation of why many bloggers fail. If you are blogging about something you do not truly enjoy or believe, you are setting up to fail. If you are blogging for the sole purpose to make money, then you are also setting yourself up to fail. However, if you enjoy what you do, no matter what it is, money is not an issue. How many times have you heard, make sure you enjoy what you do, as it will seem less like work and more like fun?

Impatience never commanded success.

The great thing about many quotes, is that some of them are interrelated. As you can easily understand, without perseverance and drive, you will have a very hard time succeeding.

Make sure you enjoy what you do and that you are not simply doing it for the money. Yes the money is a great incentive, but if that is the only reason for doing something, think again. Work hard doing what you enjoy and the benefits will soon follow.

Inspirational Quotes, Version 2

Published by Jeremy under Quotes

It’s been over a month since we’ve had a quotes post, and I figure this is a great time to do it being the middle of summer and many people want to relax instead of work. I would like to start by using a quote that was in the last edition, and I think it is a perfect time for it. Many people have great ideas, but for some reason they do not follow through with them. Whether they are too busy, too lazy, or not motivated, many great ideas go unused. A great quote to summarize this would be:

Ideas won’t work unless you do.

I am also guilty of this as I’m sure some of my readers are too. Whether you are too busy to start a new project, don’t feel like working, or forget what you wanted to accomplish by the time you start, you must put your ideas into action for there to be any chance for success.

Another quote that ties in pretty nicely with hard work, is one about preparation.

Failing to prepare
We prepare to fail.

I really like this quote for a couple reasons. First of all it makes you think a little because of the wording. When you think multiple times about something it should have more meaning to you. Also, it pertains to what I was saying earlier. If you are not prepared to do something, you are setting yourself up for failure. Make sure you come prepared. Another quote and a little bit of alliteration:

Proper preparation prevents poor performance.

And to finish off this edition of Inspirational Quotes, since we are on the topic of working, I figured this quote fits very well:

A turtle makes progress
when it sticks its neck out.

Do not be afraid to make choices and put your ideas into action. Work hard and do not waste your time. There is no way to replace your time, so use it wisely.

Inspirational Quotes, Version 1

Published by Jeremy under Quotes

I have been thinking about additional ways to spark interest here at Online Cash Flow, and an idea came to me. What if I incorporated quotations that I read that have something to do with blogging, or life in general? I have decided to post a few quotes at a time so they have time to soak into your head. If you have any comments or questions about where I got these quotes, feel free to ask.

I was reading today and came across a few inspirational quotes that I thought pertain to blogging.

Courage: Do not follow where the path may lead… Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

I liked this quote the most because I felt as though it directly correlates to blogging. As a blogger you do not want to rewrite what others have said before you. It is original content that is rewarded in the long run when blogging.

Another common quote that I have been hearing a lot of lately is:

Everyone has 20/20 hindsight.

When you are working, make sure you work hard. If you make mistakes, learn from them and move on.

Another quote I particularly enjoyed is:

Ideas won’t work unless you do.

If you have a great idea, then do something about it. Personally I have made that mistake a few times and it has cost me. Especially if your idea costs very little or nothing, give it a shot. If there is nothing to lose, then what do you have to lose? If you learn from your mistakes then you did not waste your time either.

The last quote I would like to present in this issue of Inspirational Quotes, is:

Money is a good servant but is a cruel master.

If you enjoy what you doing, the monetary rewards will not matter as much. However, if you are only doing something for the money, it may seem more tedious and feel like additional work. I’m a big fan of quotes and try to take them to heart. After all, these quotes are well known because they have significant meaning.
