Reverse Your Tunnel Vision

Published by OnlineCash at 10:46 am under Make Money

As a new blogger, I have been doing a lot of research and thinking as to what would be the best ways to make money online. Granted I have been advertising for a few other affiliates (which has turned into a great income) but I was looking for a way to make money as I helped other people. I found it; a blog. Now that I have a blog, what will generate traffic, and then keep the traffic once they get here? Very easy. The answer is this: content, type of content, frequency of content.

Content
The number one key is generally content. Yes and well setup blog will attract some viewers, but the content is what they really care about. People are looking for information, or other ways in which they can acquire information about the topic they seek. Provide your viewers with the knowledge they want, and they will read your blog day after day. However, the key is make sure you have a lot of content. Obviously, many advertising companies require a 90 day old blog with frequent updates, or something of the sort. Therefore, blogging is more of a marathon than a sprint. Keep that in mind.

Type of Content
Whether you write about your favorite cars, food, movies, celebrities, or how to make money online, you have to have a basis for your blog. After that is settled, you can easily incorporate other topics into your writing. After you are an established blogger, feel free to throw in some additional information to keep your readers on their toes. For instance, I like to smoke nice cigars. I plan to do some cigar reviews here since I have purchased cigars with my earnings from the internet. See how it all ties together?

Frequency of Content
As you have noticed, the key to a blog is content. The “side dishes” are the type of content and the frequency of new content. Frequency means how often you plan to update your blog. Whether you are going to update it once per day, or 5 times per day, make sure you are consistent. If you update it 5 times per day for the first month, and then update it once a day for the next month, many viewers will wonder why you are updating less, and also might not return to your site as often because they are not expecting it to be updated. Make sure you update it regularly, and keep it consistent when you do update.

I hope you have learned something about successful blogging, because that is what I am trying to provide here. Knowledge to you as to how to earn an income online. Obviously I have a lot to learn as well, but I am in it for the long run.

That was a great and true write up. I fully agree with u. A good wine knows no bush… If u write well and often , people will come back rather than once or twice and then disappeared for ever..keek!

What u have stated here should be made the ‘canons’ of blogging..keek!

I think if u want people to come back to ur blog, u need to be interactive too. U need to make them feel at home like it is their watering hole after a hard day. They can come back to ur blog just to gripe or gossip. It is somewhat like a Yahoo forum. After sometime , this too can slowly fade or die.
It is not easy to keep the interest up even if u have contents..
U need new blood to keep the blog ongoing..

I agree with you once again.

What is important for a blogger is not to judge other’s blog…When u judge other’s blog , u become self righteous and what goes around comes around. Read and if it is a good blog like urs, they will come back for more. If it is a not a well written blog or not up to ur taste then just ignore and dont pass comments in another blog.

If u badmouthed a blog , it only shows ur true self., self righteous , very critical of others and even if u can write better than others, it does not mean u have a licence to barrage others.Sorry for abusing ur space..

What makes people come back to ur blog? It is not only contents but the author .What if u can write good but like no love, it is just like an empty gong.People also are put off by the author who acts mighty and high handed.

Being humbled and friendly is what draws readers to ur site. That is also one of the conditions ..

Some blogs are intolerant of dissent. No two people think alike .Different people have different outlooks. We should accept or agree that we differ in outlook or their perspective.

In blogging we see other’s view and not just propagate only our views as the only Gospel truth. keke!.There are always two sides to a coin…

What’s ur motives or reasons for blogging? This is a very important reason whether ur blog will last or die prematurely..keke!

If u are in it solely for the money, u must first look at urself whether u have those materials to sustain ur readership. Can u write well or are u knowledgable on those matters u wished to blog. If u just write personal blogs about ur life, u wont be able to go far, unless u are some famous personality.

If ur motive for blogging is just a hobby or the fun of it, it may last longer as u enjoyed sharing and posting ur ideas in ur blog.
If u write with passion and interesting contents , then ur blog will be passed from mouth to mouth.Ur traffic to ur site will increased in time .If u go to other’s blog and just put up a one liner thing in the commentary section and then expect them to come visit u ,to increase ur traffic is pathetic and pitiful..

I have read ur blog from start to finish and I find that u have loads of valuable informations that are priceless for a would be blogger. It will take time for me to digest all u have compiled in ur blog.

It is wonderful that u have been very kind and generous to share ur research findings .May u reap bountifully what u have sowed in here.Give and it shall be given in return .Keep up ur good works. It is a pleasure to know u .May God bless u richly for all ur endeavours…!

Took me awhile to read all your comments, but thank you for the kind words. I try my best to help others whether they are beginning to blog or experienced. Obviously I still have a lot to learn, but money can be made online, as everybody will see in the next few weeks. (I have a couple interesting posts coming up).

I agree there is money to be made online. It is like a light and it attracts or lure people to write for money.Money does not fall from the sky, and there is no free lunch. U need to work at earning money
How many people can write like u and research for contents like what u have posted here. It takes alot of hard work , perserverance , sacrifice of time to reach where u are. Does the reward commensurate with all those efforts u put in? Would u be better off if u had used those time and effort into another more lucrative business venture? That is for each of us to decide.

There are successful bloggers who made thousands and they dont just sit infront of the puter but after many hours of research and field works to come up with interesting articles. Some have the potential to go far but many will fall along the way.

Dont read all those who said it is easy to make money online as the Gospel truth. The internet is full of such declarations or advertisements.
